TICKETS ON SALE FROM MONDAY MARCH 22 FOR CURRENT FINANCIAL MEMBERS

Non-members can purchase tickets from April 5.

Targeted curriculum sessions

We have partnered with Primary Art Network, QAGOMA and QCAA to deliver a rich and dynamic program specifically targeting primary, middle years and senior Visual Art teachers. 

Stay and re-connect over drinks at our Friday night social event at '66 Ernest Street'.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Registration includes attendance for one or two full days of presentations, panels and workshops, morning tea and lunch, and our QATA conference goodie bag. 

Most workshop materials are included, however some workshops may require participants to bring preparatory materials or stimulus objects. This information will be forwarded to workshop participants closer to the date. Trade stalls will be onsite on Friday with samples and merchandise bags from a range of art suppliers.

Keynote speakers

We are excited to present not one, but two inspiring keynote speakers – Professor Sally Smart and Dr Fiona Foley. 

Classes & Workshops

Participants will be able to select from over 14 hands-on workshops and participate in new programs for sharing and networking with creative professionals.

Registration is at C block Performance Centre, Southbank TAFE from 8am both days.

PARKING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Street parking is limited. The closest parking is available at Southbank Parklands.

There are numerous public transport options at South Bank.  South Bank and South Brisbane train stations are close by, and South Bank Busway Station is located right beside the TAFE campus.

Tote bag competition

Would you like to have your student work featured on the 2021 QATA Conference tote bag and attend the conference for free?

To celebrate the exciting work created in the middle years, teachers are invited to submit an artwork created in Term 1 2021 by a student in years 5 to 9.  

Terms and conditions:

  • Teachers may submit one image of an artwork created in Term 1 2021 by a student in years 5 to 9.
  • Entries are limited to one artwork per teacher attending the QATA annual state conference in 2021.
  • Entries close Friday March 26, 2021 (end of week 9, Term 1).
  • Images must be high resolution (jpg, png, pdf; min. 300 dpi) and preferably scanned (if 2-d works).
  • Entries must be accompanied by a signed release form. Download the release form here.
  • The teacher who submits the selected artwork will be invited to share the artwork learning experience at the 2021 conference.
  • Conference attendees will have an opportunity to vote for the featured artwork during in Term 2, 2021.
  • Suitability of the design for printing purposes will be taken into consideration when finalising the selected artwork.
  • The teacher who submits the selected artwork will receive complimentary conference registration or have their registration fee reimbursed if paid prior to voting close.
  • The selected student artist will receive a complimentary tote bag featuring their artwork.

Entries have now closed and we have plenty to choose from. We’ll send out a link for voting in term 2.

Note: multiple entries from one school for the same year level will be shortlisted for voting.
