Copic || Professional Development

Both Copic and Molotow are relatively new mediums which are exciting for students but which are possibly unfamiliar to many art teachers. Both are ideally suited to the current trend towards mixed media.

Robgals Workshop – Robotics Workshop for Girls – 10 April 2012
The next ‘Robogals Workshop for Girls’ is going to be held from 9am-3pm on April 10. It would be fantastic if you could pass on the information to interested female students in your class. During this holiday workshop, students will be able to build and program their own robot and meet some of our female Engineering students. Robotics Workshop for Teachers – 8 May 2012
The Robotics Workshop for Teachers has been designed to offer in-service robotics training for teachers who are keen to support their students to actively participate in the area of robotics. Young ICT Explorers – Registrations close 25 May, Submissions close 2 July, Judging Event on 11 August
Teams of up to four students from school years 4-12 can now register for the 2012 Young ICT Explorers competition. Registrations close on May 25 but your students will have time until July 2 to develop their ICT projects. This can be a mobile application, computer game, website, digital art, robot, short film or animation. The best teams will compete in four age divisions at the Judging Event, held at The University of Queensland on Saturday, 11 August 2012. The winning team of each age division receives an iPod Touch (or equivalent) for each team member. Prizes will be also be awarded to teams placed second and third.  In addition, the school of the 1st prize winning projects will receive an Apple iPad as a school prize. Interaction Design Exhibit – 7 June 2012 (tbc)
Experience the latest technology projects at the UQ Interaction Design Exhibit! The exhibition gives you the opportunity to meet the new generation of Interaction Designers and discover the latest physical computing projects from UQ Multimedia and Interaction Design students. School groups are invited to attend the exhibition between 12-5pm. CS4HS Workshop – 24-25 September 2012
The UQ CS4HS Workshop is a free professional development program for teachers with an interest in ICT/Computer Science sponsored by Google. The program will run over two consecutive days, with a follow-up session a few months after the actual workshop. The CS4HS Workshop will have three main focuses: Databases, App Development, Interaction Design and Micro Controllers. The two-day program with plenty of hands-on and interactive sessions will provide participants with many opportunities to interact and discuss their own teaching of Computer Science. QUT Precincts: Artist workshop this Tuesday 20 March

QUT is hosting an artist workshop for students (adults are also welcome) this Tuesday 20 March, 2012 held in conjunction with In the spotlight: Anton Bruehl photographs 1920s-1950s <http://www.artmuseum.qut.edu.au/exhibit/2012/anton_bruehl.jsp. This is an opportunity for your students to view the exhibition and do some making with emerging artist Gerwyn Davies.
