Botanica – Contemporary art outside Expression of interest

Brisbane City Council is now inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified artists, designers, architects, creative collectives and collaborators to participate in Botanica 2020.

Brisbane City Council is growing your Brisbane lifestyle by helping deliver thousands of markets, festivals and events each year. First held in 2018, Botanica – Contemporary art outside is quickly establishing itself as Brisbane’s premier outdoor contemporary art event.

Botanica aims to provide visitors with experiences that promote social connection and inclusion, re-enchantment and affirmation, intercultural understanding and engagement, creative participation and sensory involvement. To achieve this, Council aims to invest in art that is contemporary, and has a multi-layered approach to meaning and production (e.g. participatory or multimedia works, or works with unconventional themes, experimentation, humour and surprise). Staged with Queensland’s premier heritage garden on the banks of Brisbane’s River city reach, Botanica aims to be a genuinely creative and transformational public art festival.

How to apply:
Artists are required to submit an EOI no later than 12 noon Brisbane time on 23 September 2019. An artist brief is available on Council’s website.
