We are thrilled to announce that the 2021 QATA conference can proceed as planned on Friday and Saturday 16-17 July! Due to reinstated Covid-19 restrictions for social distancing and interstate travel, we have made a few adjustments to the scheduled program:

  • Keynote presenter Sally Smart is unfortunately unable to travel to Brisbane and will not be presenting on Friday, however we are excited to welcome Joachim Froese in her place. Sally has promised to attend the QATA conference in 2022 and is excited she will be able to share her new body of work next year.
  • The Sharespace session format on Friday has changed to ensure social distancing and will now be presented across several seated locations. You will be allocated one room with a mix of four fabulous presenters. We can still promise you a fast-paced series of inspirational ideas from artists, industry professionals and creative educators.
  • Some of our fabulous Saturday workshops have been reduced in class size capacity to ensure we meet square meterage rules per person. We have added an extra option with Joachim Froese in both sessions and will need to move a few people into some other spaces for one selection. If you are interested in attending one of Joachim’s workshops instead of your current allocation, please send an email to [email protected] by Friday 9 July.
  • Your lanyard will have allocated seats when required for some sessions. We kindly ask you to remain in your allocated seat and allocated sessions throughout the program. Seats have been allocated with your school colleagues. If you would like to request to sit with someone else, please send an email to [email protected] by Friday 9 July. We will do our best to accommodate your requests.
  • Sadly we are likely to cancel our drinks on Friday night if this needs to become an allocated seating event (not great for socialising). If this happens, we will head off to one of the local establishments in Southbank for a quick get together and share the plan with you on the day.
We appreciate your understanding with each of these changes and have worked hard to make sure we could still deliver two great days full of inspiration and creativity, with plenty of goodies, giveaways and prizes.

We look forward to seeing you next week. Look out for more details soon about what you need to bring for your workshops. (Don’t forget your mask!)

Please note: refunds are no longer available except in the event of Covid-19 lockdown.

Tote bag competition

This year, we invited teachers to enter an artwork created by a student in years 5 to 9 to appear on the 2021 QATA Conference tote bag. We have plenty of exciting entries and as a conference ticket holder, we would like you to vote for your favourites.

The teacher who submitted the selected artwork will share the artwork learning experience at the 2021 conference and will receive complimentary conference registration (or have their registration fee reimbursed if previously paid).
The selected student artist will receive a complimentary tote bag featuring their artwork.
Note:
– multiple entries from one school for the same year level were shortlisted for voting
– suitability for printing purposes was taken into consideration when finalising the selected artwork.

Thank you for your time and support.

We look forward to revealing the winning entry at the 2021 conference.

Voting has now closed
