We have 2 special events for Arts Educators coming up with Flying Arts as host with Arnold Aprill. The first is an open forum for all Educators with a panel of 3 guests in discussion (see below) the second is an exclusive event for QATA members only and offers the opportunity for close discussion and consultation with special guest Arnold Aprill.
Arnold Aprill
Arnold Aprill is the Founder and former Lead Consultant of the Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education (CAPE), a network of artists and arts organizations, educators and schools that are dedicated to school improvement through long-term arts education partnerships. Arnold has been recognized for exceptional leadership by the Chicago Community Trust and by the Leadership for a Changing World initiative supported by the Ford Foundation. He is a Fulbright Senior Specialist and currently he is the Founder and Lead Consultant of Radical Compliance Arts and Learning Laboratory in Chicago USA. He consults nationally and internationally on the role of the arts in effective school improvement and on manageable and useful approaches to arts assessment.
Event 1: Implementing the Australian Curriculum: The Arts.
Professor John O’Toole (Lead Writer ACARA); Arnold Aprill (Founder and former Lead Consultant of the Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education (CAPE)) and Therese Flynn-Clarke (Teacher/Artist) discuss the values and benefits of the Australian Curriculum: The Arts and some of the issues and challenges influencing successful implementation.

Event 2. QATA meeting with Arnold Aprill as Guest at the JWCoCA hosted by FAA
Collaborating for arts rich classroom experiences.
Internationally acclaimed arts and education expert Arnold Aprill provides insight and guidance on delivering arts rich experiences in the classroom through collaborative learning models, in the context of delivering on the requirements of the Australian Curriculum: The Arts.
This is a special opportunity only for QATA members for discussion and consultation with Arnold Aprill. Topics can include but are not limited to:
· Eliciting inquiry questions at the core of arts learning from students
· Ways to draw on students previous knowledge and arts experience
· Methods for forming meaningful collaborations with colleagues
· Methods of documenting student work processes
· And strategies for sharing student work
