Larissa Warren is a local ceramic artist working on a brand-new commission for HOTA Gallery for exhibition in the summer 24/25.

Larissa is seeking to engage schools across the Gold Coast region to collect clay which will be used in the production of ceramics works. In return Larissa will provide a talk on her artistic process and the relevance of the specific project for primary/secondary students.

This event will focus on:

• answering questions relating to Senior Visual Art Alternative Sequence syllabus
• sharing ideas and resources for effective practices.

Participants have the opportunity to:

• develop knowledge and understanding of the differences and requirements of the Alternative Sequence syllabus as a reference for improving teaching, learning and assessment
• discuss and apply the purpose and role of assessment and syllabus requirements to their practice
• network with other teachers of the Visual Art Alternative Sequence syllabus to develop and sustain collegial relationships and professional networks
• establish shared understandings about syllabus changes
• share ideas about translating understandings into practice
• discuss the benefits and challenges of offering Alternative Sequence syllabuses.
